Using a Tradeshow Golf Game
To Atract People to Your Exhibit

A lot of companies use the “Putting Green” method of attracting attendees to their booth.

This is about a company that set up the putting green and was giving away a beautiful $200 putter if you sank the ball in the hole (you only got one try).

If you didn’t sink the ball, you received a sleeve of golf balls. This is a pretty typical use and implementation of the putting green promotion.

However, this company managed to mess it up in a number of ways:

1.     The level of difficulty was not hard and they ended up giving away almost 50 putters

2.    The sleeve of golf balls they gave away did not have the company name or logo on them.

3.    At no time during the game, did the exhibitor discuss the company products or service with the person playing the game.

4.    They never posted the names of the winners (considering how easy the game was, maybe that was a good thing in that it did not encourage more people to play.)
