Do you know that 76% of tradeshow attendees determine who they are going to see and which exhibits they are going to visit BEFORE they go to the tradeshow?

Pre-show marketing can increase your booth traffic from 30%-80% and sometimes even more. It can mean the difference between meeting the right prospects and just wasting your time.

Pre-show marketing prompts people to visit your exhibit area, to talk with you, and to view your products and services. Pre-show marketing helps ensure that the attendees, the media representatives and others will not miss you or your company.

Your best results will come from people you invite, rather than the hundreds or thousands of people roaming the tradeshow exhibit area.

A key difference between the average tradeshow exhibitor and the Tradeshow Superstar is that the Superstar uses effective pre-show marketing to increase both the quantity and quality of visitors to their booth.

When I work with clients, I have them use a 6-step process to ensure that their pre-show marketing efforts will be successful.

Tradeshow News & Information

Tradeshow Marketing

Scoping out your competitors is another reason why companies
exhibit at tradeshows. Generally speaking you can’t call up your competitor and
ask them what new products or development efforts they are working on. However,
when they exhibit their new products at a tradeshow, you have the opportunity to
gain significant competitive information.

Sometimes you can find out how much of your current customer base is at risk
just by watching who visits their exhibit.

Exhibitors know that their competition is watching them and are interested in
what they are doing and how they are doing it. There are ethical ways of gaining
competitive information at tradeshows and you should be using them to your
advantage (more about this topic in Chapter 20).
